Holiday Off: What do you do?

President's Day is Monday here in the U.S., and most bank and government workers have the day off (including myself).



Whenever YOU get any holidays off, what do you do? Do you go do something special, like fishing, visiting a museum, etc? Do you just sit around your house playing XBox all day?



I generally sleep in, have lunch with a friend, take care of some errands, and then do whatever. "Whatever" may include laundry, movie watching, bowling...who knows.

    I do what nobody else tells me to do. That's a holiday. Or get drunk the night before.

    Government jobs can be nice.



    Work Monday, get paid double time and I will still have a day banked to take later in the year.

    You can dodge the bricks I throw through your window. Bank and government workers stay home if someone died at some time in history.

    dang...i don't know if we have off or not on monday....guess i should look into that...



    i have the wife's family flying in from the east coast for my eldest's b-day and a ski/boarding weekend...so it will be crazy at thegelding household....better go buy some tequila....g

    the only holiday we get off is martin luther king day, so that we don't come off as being racist...

    i think i slept the whole day to show my respect.

    Mostly it's just that I'll goof off nicely the night before, kill a few beers. Then on the day off I'll drive around, eat lots of meat, and usually rendezvous with some friends. Oh yeah. . . A good jerk off is usually in order.

    **** President's Day and **** all these other half assed holidays that no one gives a flying **** about except for the ****ing ****ers who get the ****ing day off for some pointless holiday that they won't give one thought to while they are talking a shit.

    I work for a city government, and since a former U.S. President called this city his hometown, we also get his birthday off. Pretty sweet.



    I don't think we get Columbus Day off, though. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    Well I get Friday and Monday off. I get a 4 day weekend, nah, nah.



    I probably will spend it finishing the remodeling I have been doing on my 33 year old RV. I likely will do a bunch of house fix-up as well. I have a tree and a new chainsaw calling me. Also a rototiller as well.

    I miss holidays. Used to get them all off, now I'm lucky we get Christmas and the Fourth of July. Hell I used to have Washington and Lincoln's birthday's off.



    Hey for those people dissing gov't workers for getting all the days off I had about ten Christmas' in a row without my father because of his gov't job.

    Nope. I work for the City of Independence, Missouri in the Communications Division. I get Monday off.



    I don't know what I'm going to do with the day, and that made me curious as to what other people do with their holidays. Hence this thread. That's all.
