using ipad to drive music system

Can anyone offer any ideas for using the ipad to drive music speakers through out the house? Assuming that I need a amp to drive the speakers. Any ideas would be appricated.

    Grab an Apple TV 2 and use the iPad as a remote. Just hook the Apple TV to the amp of your choice via optical connection or HDMI. Use the iPad as your remote control.

    Airport Express has speaker out as well and as long as ipad/itunes can connect that should work too.
