Sadam & Hussein : Where were the hard-hitting questions?
please note that this was started as i was halfway through watching Dan Rather's interview of Sadam, so maybe I'll come back here and make some retractions or additions...
<sigh>
Dan let the whole missle debate drop.
Dan let Sadam blather on in circles when he asked about his thoughts on the terrorist attack on NYC/Pentagon. Not that I expected him to say that he HATED it.
Mostly CBS/Rather went for letting Sadam talk.
Then, oh joy of joys, they got Sadam coming up with the idea of having DAN RATHER to moderate a debate.
hee hee
Go strap yourself to a lightpost in downtown Bhagdad Dan....

1 hour of Saddam avoiding questions talking about the will of Allah. He didn't lose the 1991 war. Jealousy is for women. He has no proscribed weapons.
I think the most outrageous thing was Dan Rather asking him to speak a little English. What are we, in Study Hall getting to know the new foreign kid?
I don't blame him for not pushing too hard, this guy will make you disappear and watch the torture tape while drinking his hot milk to go to sleep. Nice little jab at the very end, though.
