    Thanks BuonRotto, my desktop pictures have improved immeasurably. Pflam , we always were pretty irrelevant in the scheme of things, though it is nice to see the true colour picture of the earth and see so much green surviving our presence.

    When I went to see a friend in Allentown (yeah, I know....why did I go to Allentown?) he had the NASA Channel. They had a 24-7 feed of a satellite video of the Earth....we sat and watched for hours....... <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

    Yeah, the sites seem to be rather fickle. Some times they load in a flash, others they're unreachable. I just tried it, and they're working fine again. They must have very small bandwidth for those servers or something.

    The images of the earth (night/day) specifically were part of the Blue Marble project. The URL is here...

    They have a lot of other images as well. Good stuff.

    NASA TV was always my favourite channel (when cable here carried it)... video of sunsets/sunrises over earthlimb...

    &lt;odd trivia: Al Gore's proposed 24hr_Earth_Observation_TV_Satellite, Triana, would have been launched on STS-107 (Columbia)&gt;

    webcasts of NASA TV are now my only source.

    Point your realplayer to the Houston Chronicle's 34kb stream.

    chron.com's "space chronicle" section also has links to ISS crew Audio.
