Wow, tonight's episode was freakin awesome. Did anyone out there see it as well? I'm trying to suspend talking about it cause I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but it's so hard! Such a great show, absolutely terrific episode that was on tonight...

I would have jumped long before the 3 minutes-to-go mark.
Big Thumbs up to the first-season's asshole, George Mason, who redeems himself even though Jack had to knock him out last year.
Big thumbs down to the incredibly persistent stupid little girl, Kim. What Jack sees in her, I'll never know. I can't recall one smart thing she has ever done. I DID LIKE the shirt she almost wore last year. This year she looks just like other aged, chubby chicks.
I know that the blonde sister who has been assisting Jack will most likely be written as a love interest, I'd say. She has borderline acting skills, though.
Awfully big mushroom cloud for a KILOton detonation. How many miles away was Kim from it?
Anyway, GREAT SHOW.

Oh, and I agree that girl is getting annoying- looking all young and hot, but endlessly having trouble dealing with stuff. Fricken die already! Can't they put her in more sexual situations or something, because she ain't managing to yank any of my sympathy strings anymore.

I saw the premise for tonight's episode coming from a mile away, sadly...I was hoping they'd just disarm it and be done with it, and while what actually happened was perfectly acceptable, it was totally predictable that Mason would fly the plane gasping his last breaths...Cheesy, but good...

I kid, I kid! I still thought it was a touching part.
I would have enjoyed a fuller and longer shot of the mushroom cloud. <img src="embarrassed.gif" border="0">

Yeah, I pegged it as soon as Mason showed up at the airport. That combined with the trailers with Jack flying the plane made it pretty obvious. Like, it was even plausable that Jack was gonna die this episode.....

<strong>FormerLurker, yeah, I actually thought of that scenario about two episodes ago when Bauer first discussed the possibility of flying it somewhere. And then when Mason decided to leave the makeshift CTU control center, that sealed it.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Eugene, yeaUrite (New Orleans expression, Happy Mardi Gras everyone!).
It seemed to be a great way for Mason to redeem himself.
On the OTHER hand... did anyone else notice that Mason veered zee plane drastically OFF course just before the bomb went off (about 1:30 on the timer?)
HMMMMMMMM  I seem to remember Jack saying the course was set for a straight shot.....
I LOVE this show, it always keeps me guessing. The blond who was supposed to get married ending up as one of the main terrorists was a twist I never saw coming...
As a notorious non-bandwagon kinda guy, I just want to say that no one told me how awesome this show is. I watched the first episode of the first season and have been hooked ever since, and got several of my friends hooked early on.
In all footage I've seen of steep dives, the planes always roll into the dive...I dunno...
Here's how I would have ended the episode...
<Mason> Surprise! Look what I brought you!
<Bauer> Ah for criminy's sake, George, you aren't really dying...
<Mason> What the f&#*?!
<Bauer> You were being a dick, so we faked your symptoms.
<Mason> ...then why-
<Bauer> -psychosomatic
<Mason> You #%#^ ^$&*
<Bauer> ...
* They struggle
* The plane veers off course into the center of Las Vegas
* Celine Dion is enveloped by a giant ball of flames
* The clock ticks 11:00 PM

<strong>I think that's the easiest way to send the plane into a dive rather than just pitching the stick/wheel forward. or a straight shot would have been unexciting from the audience's POV...

I've heard so many good things about the show and I've tried it on multiple occasions. In my opinion it was absurdly cheesy and predictable.
I prefer things along the lines of Sopranos, Deadwood, Weeds, Dexter, and my favorite, The Wire.
If you think 24 is a good crime drama, pick up Season 1 of The Wire and you'll forget about Sutherland.
