bush press conference

I have a compulsion to mention that it looks like George W. Bush is getting his lines through an earphone or something. His pauses are a bit befuddling, and he keeps staring off into space.

His lack of argument (or evidence to support his argument) is embarrassing and he will not answer questions directly.

He's not one of history's great public speakers is he?

He's looking into space watching for the Invaders. If he stays behind the little Orange bunker things he can shoot them before they get to the bottom of the screen. Or else we all die. Either you are with us, or you're with the Space Invaders.

    such bs...

    he DOES want war

    he DOESN'T care about iraqi's

    he DOES care about oil

he is a THREAT to US financially

technically we have no right to attack iraq because he does stuff to his own people...i think we should do soemthign, but technically we shouldn't be able to

u cant attack somone on the fact that they might...this isn't minority report

dont get me wrong i dont like iraq but bush is a war monger

Actually, while I think Bush is donkey manure personified, I think he gives an OK speech. However his moronitudinous qualities really shine through on the few occasions where he has to answer Q + A and try to fire up a few neurons on his own.

Thanks asterix, it's nice to know that not everyone in the US is swallowing what's being forced down their throats.

I saw Letterman taking a dig at Sean Penn, is he getting bonus'ed on that?

I just thought of a drinking game for _alliance_.

Every time Bush says "weapons of mass destruction" or "war on terror", you take a shot.

Christ, you'd be passed out in 15 mintues.

And the worst part of this pathetic thing... I'M MISSING SURVIVOR.

    Just pretend it's an SNL skit and it's SOOO much less scary! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" />

Will Ferrell would be doing a MUCH better job. Especially with the parts about swearing to uphold the Constitution, and praying for peace, and how Saddam is a Direct Threat to the American People.

Well, I don't think much of Bush, but I don't think he's being so insincere about not wanting war and wanting to save Iraqis. I think it putsyou at a disadvantage to assume that the person you disagree with or don't like is either stupid or lying about everything. Wouldn't it be a better approach to assume he is telling what he beleieves and that he's not as dumb as maybe you'd like to think? Might scare you more, but it might help you in the long run.

If Osama Bin Laden is caught (and word has it that they are close), I wonder if the appetite against terrorism, and war would be further lessened.

Many Americans already don't see Iraq as a threat to national security. All this talk about weapons of mass destruction being sold to other terrorist groups seem to be purely propaganda and speculation.

he seemed to ignore or space out a lot of questions that required more than platitudinous "i believe/i know" self-corrective koans

lots of iraq=terror but little evidence

which made the sheer irony of the UN "show your cards" comment puzzle a few reporters

funnier still was the pre-emptive comment earlier in the day from saddam, past master of hyperbolic "mother of all battles" speechifying from safe bunkers, whose translation voice-over paid homage to "you should see what my eye did to his fist" tradition and said something to the effect of

"invaders may eat us but we're the hard gristly and uncomfortably poky bit that will hurt your mouth and mess up your guts"

priceless counterpoint to Dubya's deer-in-headlights Q and sort of A

his sincerity would be easier to assume if it didn't appear so teleprompted...
