No. Of course not. Put a piece of electrical tape over the lens.

    seriously?

whats worst is that Apple won't release an iPhone with no capacitive display.

Ah, you got me. Though we shouldn't consider the capacitive screen to be an end-all, be-all. Eventually there'll be better tech than it. Maybe.

I've seen people in Government jobs request phones without camera for

security reasons so I understand why. Seems to be no way of disabling the

camera that's fool proof that I know of.

    Smash it. That'd work.

Take out the lens. That'd work.

    Jailbreak and delete Camera.app.

There are few places that you can take a phone without a camera that you couldn't take a phone with a camera. No classified facility allows cell phones anyway.

The "fool proof" way is to remove the camera module.

    $20 from iresq.

You'll have to talk to your security folks to see if this is acceptable (probably not). Then you probably get to put this really ugly sticker on your nice iphone if they actually allow cell phones without cameras.

I've seen laptops with stickers over the webcams. I think they are the tamper proof kind where they rip like crazy if someone tries to take them off.

HeHeHe... I had one of those once upon a time ... the iPhone camera takes much better pictures (and for the same price, but comes with the smartphone!)
