Office v.X troubles

Does anyone know how to view .rtf (rich text format) documents in Word X? Cuting and pasting from Text Edit is a pain.

There has to be a way. I could do it in Word 98. Why would Microsoft ship Office X without support for the most widely used email text format?

    Word v.X doesn't support RTF files? <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

Something very wrong is going on at Redmond.

I think you need to pick an RTF file and Get Info on it in the Finder. When there you can pick what application you want rtf files to be associated with and you can select Word. If you had no other app that could open RTF files than it would default to Word on it's own.

    Worth a shot.

I'm such an idiot! I didn't see the file type menu in the open dialoge box. They moved it from to bottom to the top, and I couldn't find it. Problem solved.
