Help with ADB mouse 2 design
Hi there, I've been working on a modified version of the old Apple ADB Mouse 2 for a long time now and have now reached a point of interest:
Seems to me that the chip used inside taht mouse is actually 2 button capable, with the second button just never used. Even Apple itself is talking about an optional secondary mouse button in its tech docs. Now trouble is, where would that button connect to?
There are unused pins on the IC, but it's kinda hard to determine which one does what.
So if anyone out there has a circuit plan of the ADB mouse 2 or a pinout for the ICs used in those mice...let me know.
(That info of course is most certainly confidential, so I guess only very few people here could even possibly have access to that info.)

Chances are they make pc mice, and made the apple mice to the apple spec.
The newer USB mice from Apple seem less generic. The puck was a pretty different board shape than normal PC mice. Looking into the Pro mouse, I can't see any unused pinouts.
One is a small older Logitech chip with the light black ball from the ADB Mouse 1, then there's the same with the heavy gray ball, then there are two flavors with Mitsumi chips and opticals with both kinds of balls, and eventually there is a new Logitech one with a longer chip and the heavy ball.
As far as I know that is the last model before the USB puck.

Have a look to see pics of some of the models described here.
So far I looked at the small logitech chip and saw that at least one pin is unused. The longer and newer chip remains to be examined.

The older chip is Logitech only, fabbed in Japan back in '88.
