Is there a way to access my desktop at work from home?
I have a cable modem at home and my desktop at work is connected to a ADSL 1meg modem.
Does Remote Access only work through traditional modems?

Some ideas:
Timbuktu on both machines with port 407 open on the work firewall.
Filesharing over TCP/IP with a static IP address on the remote machine.
Run an FTP server on the remote machine with FTP ports open on remote filewall.
Run a webserver on the remote machine.
Depends on what the firewall lets in and what you are trying to achieve.
