Hi guys

I can't play VCDs with the OS X QuickTime as I used to in OS 9. When I try to open the .dat file in the MPEGAV folder, it says that there's some I/O error. Is anyone else having the same problem? Thanks!

    FWIW, I am using a PowerBook G3 500 with a DVD-ROM drive and Mac OS 10.1.2

This is a known issue with OS X. You probably have to boot OS 9 to either view the VCD or copy it to your hard drive. You might be able to launch QT in Classic and then read the VCD. I haven't tried that.

Someone has tried to offer a solution to this but their solution is to burn a copy of the VCD in a different format in OS 9 then you can view it in OS X.

Just speculation but I suspect this will be addressed in a later version of OS X.

Thanks! I've sent Mac OS X feedback to Apple about this.
