Remember in the old qt player you could hold shift and increase the volume to 300%?

Can you do that in the new player?

Woa!! Cool! I just tried holding shift-up arrow and it did get louder!

    Neat trick! Thanks!

Tho, there's no visual cue to let you know it's actually louder.

try clicking the sound button while holding shift. You should get a sound bar with 2 dashes... if you are at 100% it should be on the 1st dash.

<img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> I see no "2 dashes" on my Mac. What sound button are you referring to? The equalizer-lookin' button that toggles "Sound Controls" or the speaker icon next to the volume bar?

HAHA my bad! I was thinking about the old QT player! I am used to movies in webpages (which has the old layout) that its what I think of when I'm talking about QT...

You'll see what I mean if you look @ a movie in IE.

As for visual feedback in QT5 player. Sorry your SOL. (or @ least from what I know)

isn't this the same thing as the volume pain in the sound properties window?

you get that box with the line in middle and you set the gain or whatever, when you go over the green line it turns red

    psantora:

Yeah, I figured the custom *cough* ugly, stripped-of-function *cough GUI in QTP might be the problem. Fortunately, I still keep around an old copy of MoviePlayer 3.0 and Play It Cool so I can use the "standard" interface.
