no Guest user access with AppleTalk... wtf?
OK, Im stumped.
I just upgraded 3 old 333Mhz iMacs with 9.2.2 and they are all connected through a hub.
In 8.6 everything worked fine and everyone on the network could access eachothers HD with guest access.
I went to File Sharing and selected GUEST and gave permission for Guests to log on. But nada... Guest is still greyed out. Can only connect with user name and password.
How can this happen on THREE machines? I mustve done something fundamentally wrong or there is a fubar somewhere I just cannot think of.
Also, there is an iMac DV (new) that cannot connect as Guest to any of the 3 older iMacs.
I have also tried resetting PRAM and all that fun stuff. Nada.
What the hell am I doing wrong? I don't have to have a shared folder, right?
Thanks

You answered your own question.
Right?
You must have a shared folder accessable by "everyone".
Hope this helps.
