Does anybody have any experience with sharing one USB keyboard & mouse across two Macs, using a switch?

What happens when you switch from "A" to "B" -- what does computer "A" do when it no longer has a keyboard & mouse attached? Is there any problem with the Mac just sitting there with no keyboard & mouse?

I guess I'm thinking of this from a Windows perspective, where if you yank the keyboard while the system is still up, you'll have trouble even if you plug the keyboard back in.

You should have no troubles at all. You Macs will work fine with the keyboard and mouse disconnected. The only problem you may have is that you mouse and keyboard settings will be reset when they're "reconnected". Namely, you key repeat rate and delay, mouse speed, and double-click speed will be set to default.

Nope. It's fine. I share a keyboard and mouse between my mac and two windows XP machines and I have no problems whatsoever.
