iMac HD swap.

I think I'm ready to swap the HD in my iMac. I have one question. I'm planning on using the wifes iBook to hold the files and system folder while swapping. I'll copy them there, swap format clean install and the copy them back.



There's no problem with that right?

    I don't know if this makes a difference, but I personally would boot from a CD just to make sure nothing in the system folder would fail to copy properly due to being in use.

    Assuming file sharing works yea. But I was planning on a clean install anyway. This little mac here is getting testy. I'm thinking it needs a clean system folder.

    But, seriously, that sounds like it should work a-okay. Just remember to either copy your Preferences folder or have all your registration & serial numbers handy when you copy stuff back.
