iMac Security Question

I use a cable modem and normally put my iMac in Sleep mode when I'm not using it. I also have the Intego Security Suite (NetBarrier, etc.). My question is, when the iMac goes into Sleep mode, the hard drive spins down - but can a hacker gain anything of use without spinning up the hard drive (and can he do so with file sharing turned off)? Is there any security benefit to this at all? Obviously I'm not too savy about these matters but I'm just curious.

If your Mac is put to sleep, I'm pretty sure nothing can be done without waking it. It might be possible to access the contents of your RAM, but even that is extremely unlikely.

Don't worry. Your iMac is very secure, especially if you have NetBarrier.
