PC Video cards

in Genius Bar edited January 2014
I wanted to get a new vid card for card for my digital audio. I heard that you can buy a PC video card and flash the ROM to a mac format. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

All of the flashing of PC video cards to work in your Mac, as far as I know, use nVidia cards - specifically the original GeForce3, not the current Ti series. I flashed a VisionTek GeForce3 months ago and it works great.

aTi's are not flashable is seems.

There are a couple of very long threads over at the <a href="http://bbs.xlr8yourmac.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi"; target="_blank">Xlr8YourMac Forums</a>, but unfortunately they seem to be down for the past couple of days.

    When it's back up, <a href="http://bbs.xlr8yourmac.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001342.html"; target="_blank">check this link regarding flashing</a>.

    Good luck!
