Want the best DSL modem?

I want to purchase a decent DSL modem for one of my friends. Obviously, something that could support DD-WRT.

Many people like Linksys, but will settle for anything else better? Can anyone tell me which solution is the best for picking up a DSL Modem? One of my friends told me the dsl modem Router among the comprehensive reviews he uses is perfect. Right?

Plus, my friend's birthday is just a week later.

Any recommendations for me?
