Verizon Upgrade Prices Suck

Why can't Verizon come up with a better pricing on the iPhone 4s? I am not eligable for an upgrade until 2012. I just figured out it much cheaper for me to leave Verizon and go to ATT to get the new iPhone 4s. Good bye Verizon!
