iMovie question

is there a way to import songs or videos I downloaded off of the internet into iMovie? for some reason it won't let me add songs ecept for those I encoded myslef on my computer. I can, however, put still pictures off of the internet into iMovie (this is the OSX version).

    iMovie only supports a few formats for import.



    For images: BMP, JPEG, PSD, PICT

    For video: DV stream files

    For audio: AIFF



    You can use iTunes to convert MP3 to AIFF.

    If you have quicktime you can convert .mov files into dv stream files and then import ti iMovie.
