Do you think Siri will be ported on the Mac any time soon?

Regards,

Cyril

I'm hoping so since most Macs save for the mini have microphones already built in.

While Siri is a a killer feature for mobile the accessibility benefits on the Mac are just as profound for those with low vision and motor skill disability.

    Mac Pro.

But Apple doesn't really care about us anymore, so that's not surprising.

And it would be killer-er as an 'always-on, waiting-at-your-beck-and-literal-call' system.

Start a sentence with, "Siri," and it follows the commands thereafter. No buttons pressed. THAT'S what I want.

I also want it to call me, "sir," but one step at a time.

    Oop

Thanks for the call out Tallest. Yeah...the Mac Pro tsk tsk.

I think one we have more cores available and continued memory management improvements in the OS programs like Siri will in fact run all the time.

Not even close. Denise is a fixed list of voice commands (the usual "open menu", "play CD", "close app" etc.) with an overtly young guy pleasing porn-esque CGI babe front end. All of the engineering appears to have gone into syncing the avatars lips with the synth speech (and carefully getting the glossy highlights right) with just some basic context aware linking--things like "would you like me to send email" once you've composed an email. Plus there seems to be a bunch of silly demo ready random question responses, like "What is love to you" that does nothing for functionality. So basically Windows voice commands plus fake "personality" stuff plus sex.

In the demo video there are some full body shots of your "digital assistant" in fetish wear, so I think we know what the intent is.

Oh, the implications. Good thing Apple went the gender-nonspecific route.

There wouldn't be a porn star named "Siri".

Though that DOES open other avenues…
