Changing the battery in my iMac...aarrgh!
I recently discovered that I need to change the internal battery in my iMac (DV 400mhz, slot-loading). I have bought a new battery but cannot find any instructions on how to install it. I have scoured the web, but amazingly, I have only managed to find a few frustratingly vague references ? none of the step-by-step how-to guides I was expecting, and I really don't want to embark on extracting the motherboard without clear instructions. Can anyone point an increasingly flustered Blue Meanie in the right direction?
There IS a downloadable pdf manual on the Apple support pages, but it appears, judging from the references to RAM to be for the original iMac line, not the second generation, Kihei DV models

I have fairly big hands, but I was able to reach in there and replace the battery.
YMMV. Good luck.
Depending on the size of your fingers, you may not need to take your iMac apart (a daunting task, at best). If you remove the Airport cover while setting the iMac monitor down on a flat surface, you'll be able to see the purple and green battery in there.

Cheers mate, thanks for the info. But I've already taken care of it - see above post
