Icons halfway on screen after boot up? ...What gives?

Hello. I've got an 867MHz G4 with a 22" ACD. Before you drool...please listen to my problem.

Everytime I reboot my computer I have to re-align my icons. Be default, they like to reside on the far right, showing only half of the icon and text.



I've been through the display properties, snap to guide, changed icon size, etc... but still have the problem after I reboot.



What gives?



Please help. Your expertice is greatly appreciated.

    Try trashing your finder prefs in your /users/yourusername/library/preferences.

    thanks AJ, I'll try that when I get home. Someone suggested I adjust the horizontal scan/ positioning but I don't know of a way to do that on OS X.
