Ii appears my D-Link is dead - it served us well.

I am considering buying an Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station.

What do you all think and are there problems I need to know?

Otherwise I can replace my D-Link or buy another router such as

Asus Black Diamond RT-N56U Wireless Router

I'd like to know that too. The D-Link 665 I bought a few weeks ago doesn't maintain connection with my laptop thirty five feet away. It's intermittent at best.

I'd thought of getting an indoor antenna, but I don't know if that would work either.

One thing you can do with the AEBS is attach any USB hard drive and use it as a network share or Time Machine drive. I'm considering one for this feature.

I've been using mine for about a year with zero problems. It replaced a second generation AEBS which never had a problem. I only replaced it to get the dual channel and faster protocol. I highly recommend the Apple AEBS.
