Monitor not recognizing miniport

I have a macbook pro 17inch early 2011, I was using it with my tv and working fine out of the mini port. My battery ran low and it shut off. Now the mini port will not recognize the tv. I have resett the pram but no luck. Shut off computer no luck and then the tv. anyone with any suggestions.

    Have you tried going into system prefs > displays and hitting 'detect displays'?
