My CD Drive is Dead as a Doornail!

Help please. I have an original bondi imac running os 9.1. CD drive worked great for years till last week. When I put in a CD, the computer seems not to know it. The CD wont spin, nothing. I try to restart with "c" pressed and it still wont mount the CD. Any hints as to what I can do? I ran tech tool pro and it can find not problem with my components.
