Well, I wasn't going to write an essay. It won't work, you *should* be able to buy a PC version of the SIIG ATA/133 card for around $40-50 instead of the typical $100 and flash it with the Acard mac firmware. I got it to work in OS X, but it hung my QS 2002 in OS 9's boot sequence...didn't even get a sad Mac.
If you want a foolproof ATA/133 solution you're probably going to have to shell out the cash for the Mac version of a particular brand of ATA/133 PCI card.
