Hi there. Is there any way to retrieve a deleted file ? I lost something extremely important while cleaning up my drives. My computer has been restarted since i emptied the trash.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

A disk utility like Norton Disk Doctor should be able to do it. It can only recover a file that hasn't been written over though. So if you don't have a program like this right now, refrain from writing large files (or many small ones) to your computer until you get it in order to increase your chances of a recovery.

    good luck.

Norton Disk Doctor is for repairing disks. What you want is Norton Unerase. They are both part of Norton Utilities.

Norton Unerase is no substitute for a good back up strategy.

Even if you run Unerase immediately after you delete a file there is a good possibility that your deleted file will be unrecoverable.
