I'm trying to connect my old iMac to my new iBook through TCP/IP - I've made both computers active and turned File Sharing on enabling TCP/IP on both - now what? Is one of the hard drives supposed to pop up on the other's screen? Is there a place like in AppleShare that I can see the other drive? I'm so confused.

if you're in 9 then open the chooser and click on AppleShare and the computer you are not working on should pop up....

If you are in X then I cant help you...

If you're in X, go to the Finder, pull down the "Go" menu and select "Connect to Server...". Or just hit: Command-K

You should be able to intuitively browse your local network, or type in the IP address of the other system.
