Running Programs from OmniWeb

I am building a new start page for my dad(he wanted something simple), and I was wondering if there is a way to launch a program using HTML? I cannot use CGI or any other fancy stuff. I just need something to launch address book, mail.app, and a few other apps.



I appriciate any help.

    well, i tried using a link for "file:///Users/ryantann/Documents/getmail"

    but it just left me with a blank page. I have another idea though...

    I'm pretty sure you can't do this with just vanilla HTML...

    what about javascript, is that possible? I would like to have the page finished by Sunday. So far I have a script to create a new blank mail document, but I still need address book, mozilla, IE, and calculator. Help please.

    Just make an ASS app that launches them.
