anyone running their own DNS server on OS X? or maybe even a mail server?

Just curious as to the best prog. to use, & if it's worth the hassle?

OS X can handle both, though they may need to be downloaded, but I don't think they're worth the hassle setting up, unless you know what you are doing, and have a domain name/static ip. The only situation that I can see it work good for would be a local mail server for your network, but then again, that's probably a pain too.

Well the grand daddy of DNS is BIND.

It has a reputation for bugginess but still is I believe the world's most popular DNS.

Edit: not exactly bugginess but security vulnerabilities that get exploited by hackers.
