Installing a Network Card on a 6500
I have installed a network card in my old Performa 6500/225. The purpose of the exercise was to transferre all my data onto my new iMac 800.
I can't get the old Mac to register the network card is there. In the AppleTalk control panel a selection of Remote Only has been added to the existing modem and printer selections. When selected is it says:
' An error occured attempting to use Remote Only.
Make sure your network connections are correct .'
I am running Mac OS 9.1 on it. I have tried to install Apple's network drivers but the installer says it can not be installed over system software on the selected drive.
Has anyone got any ideas on why this is?

1. If you bought it, it should have a drivers disk that came with it.
2. If you pulled it from an old machine, look @ the card and see if you can tell what brand it is so you can go find the drivers.
3. Is the card in all the way?
You'll know when it's working because you'll get an ethernet option included into your appletalk list. If you don't have a hub to plug the two computers into then make sure you are connecting them with a cross over cable.
