Mac.com e-mail problem: Too Little Space

I always reach maximum capacity very quickly. 5MB is just too small. Is there a way to have the e-mails saved locally and deleted on the server. My Pop3 optimum online account does that but I don't know how to do it with mac.com

Just drag the messages (or folders) you want to keep to a mailbox created in your "Personal Mailboxes".

    Very, very occasionally.

A word of warning, though: I set up mail rules to transfer stuff from my mac.com inbox to various local mailboxes, and I know for sure that messages went missing during the process.

It seems to be fine if you drag them, but the rules are a bit iffy.

thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I have never known how to really use an e-mail client. too many years with crappy AOL and then after switching not really caring

There must be some way to script Mail.app so that "if message is greater than 5 days old then move to mailbox 'Archive for Mr.Nut'"

It is probably more confusing, that is the idea though!

Just set-up a POP account for your mac.com address if you really want to use it.
