DiskWarrior 2.1.1

I have a problem with Diskwarior. I have just received the CD with

the upgrade to DW 2.1.1.

I am now on iMac800 with two equal partitions, one partition of 9.2.2 and

one partition of OSx 10.1.5.

I ran DW on the two partitions after booting from the CD. The work on

the OSX partition went without problem. But on the OS9 partition I had a

big problem.

After completion, the name of the of the MacOS9 partition has been

changed into Untitled.

Many other software names have been changed into untitled. Many

Extensions CP and Preferences have been changed into Untitled... something.

Many NW file names have been changed into Untitled...

I could not launch my Netscape 4.7.9, and when looking into its folder I

have notice that the installer name has been changed into Untitled, as

well as many other elements in this folder.

I have been told before

purchasing by the people of Alsoft that the upgrade will be able to

handle my systems, and on their Website it says that this version 2.1.1

handle well iMac flat Panel.

I have been able to restore from backup most of the "untitled".

Do you have any idea about.

Regards

Raymond

That sounds like a very strange problem, and one that I've never encountered in all the times I've used my DiskWarrior. Could it be possible that the disk was corrupted before you rebuilt it, and DiskWarrior simply got rid of imperfect information, rather that messing up something that was perfect to begin with? Sometimes the Macintosh (especially Mac OS 9) can be very lenient with what it will read and interpret, so you may not know if your drive has a problem. I should try it on my sister's flat panel iMac, but I can just imagine her reaction if this really is a universal problem...

    Thanks or your reply.

It happened here before my case.

I assume that it is may be, because the the os x create on the 9 Hebrew some strange phenomena.

Stile I have repeated the process until I get to compare the two harddrive and once again there are too many Untitled, so I canceled.

Wait, you say you're using Hebrew? Are your files names in Hebrew as well? That may be the problem. A lot of software is tested primarily in English, so Alsoft may not know how it will react to Hebrew file names. It may just throw up its hands and decide that they were all corrupted, and would be better off being named "Untitled". If you write them a letter, I'm sure they'd try to fix it for you.

    Thanx for your reply.

I have already done that and for the time being they don't seem to know what to do.
