In OS 9, I created a custom monitor profile using the Adobe Gamma control panel but, even though the physical profile is located in the correct folder, I cannot select it in the Colorsync control panel. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

As far as I can remember, the Adobe Gamma control panel is not designed to work with Colorsync. It's designed to work instead of Colorsync. They're both color calibration utilities. Adobe Gamma will calibrate your monitor and your Adobe applications. Colorsync will calibrate everything with everything else.
