Buying Advice: Bag for TiBook
So, I've had my powerbook for a little over two months now, and the crappy makeshift messenger bag that I've been using is dying on me. So, I'm looking to purchase a new bag. I've looked at lots of bags, and while I would like to see one in person before I purchase, I figured I'd see what people here thought. Here's what I've seen that looks promising:
Kensington Saddlebag: Looks decent, seems to hold a lot of stuff, and is cheap.
Timbuk2: Played with the bag builder, not too expensive, but I'd kinda like something with a built in laptop sleeve.
Spire: I somewhat like the look of the Endo bag, but again, hard to tell looking online.
Crumpler: There messenger bags look pretty nice, but I can't gauge at all from the site whether or not the TiBook, with it's odd dimensions, will fit in the computer compartment.
Waterfield Designs: These bags look really really NICE, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to spend $200+ on a bag.
So, with that, I solicit any opinions from Powerbook owners here. If you think there are other bags I might want to look at, suggest away. Pricing is a tricky matter, a lot of which depends on what my paycheck ends up looking like. I guess it would be useful for me to add that I'm a college student, so I'm looking for something to hold the computer as well as my books, notes, etc. Thanks for any suggestions.

These bags are good, but in my experience, the best Apple laptop bags are from Tom Bihn (www.tombihn.com). They are made specifically for Apple's laptops (iBooks and Powerbooks) and have a variety of selections to choose from. For the Powerbook G4, try the Eclipse, Big Deal!, or Empire Builder. I'd get a Brain Cell laptop sleeve with whatever you like there, which snaps into the bag and adds SERIOUS protection for the Powerbook--its awesome!

Thats the page for the Powerbook products.
I bought a Timbuk2 bag years ago when I was a courier... that bag has been through almost anything you could possibly imagine over the past seven years. Their bags don't die short of a nuclear apocalypse Then again, I'd never see myself carrying a laptop in one... they're courier bags.
Anyhow, go Waterfield. Consider it an investment for protecting your already expensive investment, and you can probably write it off on your taxes
M3D Jack, don't tempt me... I really don't want to spend that much, but those bags look like they'll fit my needs perfectly. Which size bag do you have? Guess I'll have to go hit the blackjack tables again... hell, that's how I bought my iPod...
I have a waterfield case for my iPod and my laptop... for the laptop, I have a Sleevecase. a Sleevecase for the TiBook is only $39... and it's custom made to specifically fit your machine. Buy one of those and a TB2 bag and you'd be set. Still, I think for your purposes, the waterfield bags are better all around.
You know you want one. Put it on a credit card I mean, look at the money you spent to have a gorgeous laptop... you should do it justice and spend a fraction of the cost of the computer on a gorgeous bag that compliments it You've practically already bought it. Really, just pick up the phone, give them your Visa, and make it happen.
Your wife/gf/SO can blame me
It's looking more and more like a Waterfield bag, methinks. But I'm going to at least wait till my next pay check. I don't really need a bag till September, just figured I'd start looking now. Thanks for all the suggestions/coaxing.

I've looked a lot at Ti bags for a while...I'm still using an old Targus bag from a Dell right now though
If you get a Waterfield, I'd get the Racer-X bag, or the Cozmo SuiteSpot. The others are a little big (at least for my taste).
I will again recommend Tom Bihn, because its a very little-known company, but their products are just of the highest quality (and they don't have airplane seatbelts for buckles like the Waterfield bags
Though any solution you do will work fine I'm sure. Just protect that pretty Powerbook.
