Many of my older photos in iPhoto appear in the thumbnail view, but when I click on them to open larger, the black screen with the big exclamation point appears. Is there a way to restore the link?
Update on this problem: I used iPhoto Library Manager to re-build the library. Now the links are sort of re-established. That is to say the exclamation points have gone away, but those photos are "damaged": they all look jagged, is the best I can describe.

Any way to fix this?
You could try opening the library by right-clicking the iPhoto library file and showing the contents. If you navigate through the folders, you will find your original photo files in there. You can then copy them out and re-import them.
