Record using Powerbook built-in microphone?

I want the ability to record a work-in-progress song using the Tibook's built-in mic. Is there any way to do this so that I have unlimited record time straight to the hard disk?

I will also be getting the mBox by Digidesign for actual Pro Tools work, but I want to use the Powerbook as a little cassette recorder for sitting in my backyard, etc. prior to laying down songs track-by-track. Quality is not important -- just convenience.

Regards,

Pete

Um... couple easy audio programs can do this. Sound Studio is one I use. (AKA Felt Tip). You can record as long as you need in there. ::shrugs:: There was some program called 'voice pad' or some such thing which could record notepad type info in audio bytes. It had hot keys to. I think it was for os 9 though and also was shareware.... good luck

In OS 9 the free program Coaster is very good. Records to disk as long as there is space. Easy to make splits (end one file, start another). Very stable. Also scriptable by Applescript.
