Utility: 'snooping' a server for it's OS version?

A few months ago, I used to have a bookmark to a handy site that allowed me to enter a server's ip address or dns name into a form and it would show me what platform/version the server was running. Well, I lost my bookmarks and I need that site again. Does anyone have a url like this I can use? Are there UNIX commands similar to this (not netstat, nslookup, etc)?
