Bondi Blues

My Bondi revision.a iMac just died. It switches on, but when the power light turns green, the screen doesn't switch on properly, it flashes on, then the whole comp just fizzles out....

What can I do to solve this?? Does anyone know what the problem could be and how I could repair it, or how much it would cost to repair???

Any pointers would be helpful.

The specs of the machine are 233Mhz G3, Rage II, MacOS 8.5... <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

My Mom's RevA just went down with the same symptoms. She was unable to recover and now has an iMac G4 ;-)

Does yours have a VGA out in the back? That way you could connect a monitor to know if the rest of the system is okay.

If the problem is with the monitor subsystem or tube, it is probably not worth repairing. I have seen those rev A's for around $350 pretty consistently.
