iMac has no shortcuts or pop up tab functinality!!!

I just updated my Lime iMac DV from OS 9.0 to 9.1. I've also run the Software Updater. Funny thing happend, several of my shortcut commands are gone when in desktop mode (they all work when in application mode)! Namely Apple-N won't create a new folder when on the desktop. In addition the menus don't show the short cut commands. It's like they never existed. And the Special menu doesn't include 'sleep' or 'restart' as menu options either.

The second big problem is that I can't drag an open window to the bottom of the screen and have it turn into a tab. That was a wonderful feature that disappeared as well?

Who knows what is going on? Do I have a dumbed down lite version of os 9.1? Any help will be appreciated!

thanks,

Brock

I think you have Simple Finder on. Select the "Preferences" option in the Edit menu and uncheck the "simple Finder" checkbox.
