I want to be able to use my laptop in a car plugged in. The Apple Store sells an adapter for $79, I am trying to find something a little cheaper. Any ideas out there? Experiences?

I'm willing to bet that hooking up a laptop to your car battery will drain lots of power. I've never heard of anyone ever doing it. I would suggest getting the apple adapter though, just because of the if-iness of this. That's just my opinion though. Personally I wouldn't hook it up to my car battery unless I had to.

You do realize that while the car is running it will suck little to no power due to the alternator constantly running a charge throughout the car.

Anyway, the adapter on Apple's site is not made by Apple so I bet there are other choices out there.
