iBook Sleep Power Consumption?
Hi,
I'm wondering how much power iBooks actually use while they are asleep. I imagine it's next to nothing (it's not actually doing anything after all), but I can't find any information on this from Apple's website or anywhere else. Could anybody enlighten me as to how much power they actually use?
The reason I ask is because I frequently leave my iBook (600/128/20/Combo, if that makes a difference) asleep for long periods and sometimes it's not shut down at all during a 48 hour period (this is, of course when it is connected to a power outlet).
Also, will leaving it on for long periods (days, weeks....months?) without a reboot cause any other problems (heat for example). I ask because I now feel that with OS X (which I use all the time BTW) I can confidently go this long without a crash.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

it will sleep until the battery runs out, at which point it will go into a "deep" sleep mode, where it consumes next to nothing.
i've had my iBook go weeks without a reboot or being shut off no problem. heat won't be an issue.
enjoy your new laptop!
