I have a beige 300mhz G3 minitower and when I wake it up after a nap, it responds very slowly. When I type something, for example, I type about three times quicker than the words show up on the screen. I tried telling the hard drive to not fall asleep, but that didn't do any good. Any ideas? It is like CPU cycles are being wasted on something, but i have no idea what.

Thanks

Are you using OS 9 or X?

    Or, God forbid, earlier?

We had this problem with a few iMacs in a lab here.

An older version of the Apple CD/DVD driver caused systems to slow down after waking from sleep. We went to Apple.com's support pages and downloaded and installed the latest version of 'Authoring Support', which updates the Apple CD/DVD driver and will hopefully fix your problem.
