If you click on Preferences in the toolbar, there's an option there to save sent messages to the "Sent Messages" folder (Or any other folder, for that matter).

I don't believe it does since my sent messages don't end up in my specific e-mail account's Sent Messages box anyway. It goes into the main one.

I just checked. It works fine.

Make sure you set the preference above, and that "Save a copy" is checked on the compose page.

I have several accounts handled by Mail.app and I can only select one "Sent Messages" folder apparently.

But Belle is correct about being able to save sent messages from the webmail.mac.com site and have them appear in your IMAP Sent Messages mailbox. I didn't notice that the option is unchecked by default.

So, you can do it both ways, with the stipulation that you might have to manually copy sent messages to the right mailbox if you have multiple e-mail accounts. I wonder if this is fixed in Jaguar.

that's nice to know the imap'ed sent messages can be saved back into your sent box.

& hopefully the multiple accounts issue is fixed in jaguar....... :0
