alright, i am about to inherit a PM 867 with a superdrive in it. that superdrive burns cds at 8x. the external burner i have now burns 12x.

i know it may be stupid, but my external burner has worked very well for me and is plenty fast. i don't especially want to go back to 8x.

my question is, can i use the external burner with the new PM? will itunes give me a choice? i have roxio toast; does it give me a choice??

thanks

Get a really really really fast cd burner. That faster the better. If you have a firewire port get a firewire cd burner. Don't get a usb powered on though. It's slow and you can get many problems with burning cd's.

I've got an Ezquest cobra firewire 32 CD burner and it often isn't recognized. I have to yank out the firewire cable and reinsert it .... sort of defeats the object.
