I hear Jaguar supports 5.1 surround, but how do we get this 5.1 surround from the computer to our speakers? Are we going to have to buy an expensive output device purely for surround?

I'm Soon going to have the Formac DV Studio ( <a href="http://www.formac.com"; target="_blank">www.formac.com</a> ) assuming I have a surround amplifier would I be able to set up my computer so that it uses the Studio's output for two back speakers, and the built-in output for two front speakers and have a 4.0 surround system?

Note that the Tevion program that allow to watch TV/Video from your Formac does not work (yet) under Jaguar.

But iMovie gets the signal, and you can use Hack TV instead of Tevion, but you do not get full screen TV.

I do not see any option to get 5.1 through formac. I do not think it can decode the signal from the Video.

Do you know if the formac studio can be used as and audio input or output device? For example in the sound control panel when your asked to select an input device will the studio appear under that menu?

In applications recently I've noticed the options for DV audio channels on input and output. I looked this up on the internet and it had said these would use firewire for audio. As Mac computers can find and use most devices you connect to them I'm guessing these DV audio I|Outputs could be the ones on the Formac studio if I had one an set it up like that.
