Rebuild desktop in os9.2.2 iBook takes 4 hours??
Yesterday I rebuilt my desktop on my 2001 iBook, but the process took nearly four hours to complete. I have the 'Book set to not sleep when plugged in, and faster performance rather than energy saving. I have 384 megs of ram, if that makes any difference.
I have a 20 gig drive with about 12 gigs used. Why would the desktop rebuild take so long? My old StarMax clone with a 4 gig drive would do it in about ten minutes, maybe fifteen tops. Does the size of the drive affect the rebuild time?
