2x and 4x AGP question

I have the sawtooth G4 which has a 2x AGP slot. I have the first generation Radeon card in a PCI slot, but I would like to get a newer one or a Nividia card for the AGP slot. My question is, can todays 4x AGP cards work fine in the 2x AGP slot?



I tend to think so, just want to know for sure before I spend the cash.
