Eek.



It turns sloooooow...



form yesterday, with IE, fire and mail .. and other stuff as well.

    Well, my normal answer would be to send off that data to Apple -- copying it into a "feedback" response about OSX.



    Although...



    The solution could be that you should just upgrade to 10.2.

    Now it does also this screen sometimes, like there'd be sth REALLY bad going on with the video card

    Uh???



    Now somebody tell me how to disinstall MACGIMP ... and the x86 .. i think it's safer to use jsut photoshop.. :confused: could have been macgimp to give me trouble?? :confused: <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

    use the Apple Hardware Test cd that came with your iBook. Follow the instructions for it and it will, hopefully, tell you if there is anything wrong with your machine.



    If you messed around with some kernel stuff, maybe it did this. Seeing you say its all of a sudden (or maybe your cat went peepee on it )



    For Gimp.... I have no clue since I have never installed it, but you I would imagine that it may have an installer log, and secondly, you should be able to just drag the folder it came in into the trash... hopefully it didnt throw files everywhere!

    Yes, I'd suggest running the Apple Hardware Test CD also. That looks very strange. Also, you should probably boot from the OSX Install CD and use its Disk Utility to try to verify and repair your drive.



    GIMP is not an easy thing to remove. From what I can tell, it scatters files into several different directories. I'm looking for a way to remove it and if I find an answer, I'll let you now.

    X86 and MacGimp are the probable cause-did the problems start after installing them?Deinstalling them is a bitch,I would go to the source you got them from and find out how to do it.You may need to do a clean reinstall of your OS-just back everything up and start from scratch-it usually takes a full day or so to do it but it is faster than trying to track down a problem in the kernel you may never find the cause of.

    Uh, the mess started after installing gimp and x86...



    i went back to <a href="http://www.macgimp.org"; target="_blank">www.macgimp.org</a> where i got the gimp. but there were no uninstall instructions :confused:



    i reinstalled the os x yesterday but it left the gimp. now i think i'll still prefer to try to uninstall it manually somehow... suppose going to terminal and starting to talk in linux isn't the right way..



    once somebody finds out how to uninstall that gimp pliiiiz lemme know.. restart from scratchs sounds too bad for this..

    Well, as long as you don't start up the XDarwin environment or GIMP, just leaving the files sitting there *should* be fine.



    If I could find a working standalone download of the GIMP, it would be easy to tell you exactly what files need to be deleted. Though, MacGIMP.org's download section is broken -- and I got my copy through fink, not the webpage.

    Okay, well, how did you install XDarwin? Did you download the whole package from some page like XDarwin.org? I believe the Xfree86/XDarwin install places all of its files in these two directories:



    /usr/X11R6/

    /etc/X11/

    After that i have installed back the os x but i'm unsure whether it has leaved the things over there....
